Leonora had the rad idea of making elemental (as in the periodic table) people, with each chemical group being a family of some sort, so I chose my favourite element, Bromine.
The name Bromine apparently comes from a Greek word meaning “goat stench,” and the element was first discovered in seaweed ash. It’s a dark reddish-brown liquid at room temp that gives off corrosive fumes, though it’s mainly found in salt forms, and it was once used as a medical sedative. It bonds easily with other elements.
All the halides would be sisters I imagine, and Bromine is the eccentric middle sister that lives out in what used to be an ocean basin or something. She’s actually really friendly but she zones out a lot, and smells odd, and she’s got those creepy goat eyes.
